FIRST PUBLIC UNVEILING OF B-TEMIA’S MILITARY DERMOSKELETON
B-TEMIA Keeps Soldiers Healthy
Quebec, May 21, 2014 – B-TEMIA Inc., leader in human augmentation systems announces the first public unveiling of its Military dermoskeleton at the Special Operations Forces Industry Conference – SOFIC’14, in Tampa (Florida, USA). This one of a kind innovation in soldier protection will be demonstrated in the booth of BTEMIA’s strategic partner Revision Military and marketed under the Revision’s commercial name “PROWLER”, including the “B-TEMIA Enabled” co-branding.
PROWLER is a motorized soldier protection device worn on both legs that increases the metabolic energy reserve of soldiers while preventing short and long term musculoskeletal (MS) injuries. PROWLER allows soldiers to be “combat-ready” as well as being more deployable for a longer period of time with less MS injuries while increasing their mobility in the field and being more lethal on the objective.
“The most valuable resource of any military is their personnel. Injured soldiers are costly. Over $550 million is spent annually on direct patient care for musculoskeletal injuries in the US Army. We believe PROWLER is truly a game changer in soldier protection.” comments Mr. Stéphane Bédard, President and CEO. B-TEMIA and Revision are also under contract with the NSRDEC US Army research Center.
As with many other military proven technologies such as lycra from Dupont, BTEMIA’s dermoskeletal technology has the potential to go beyond protecting soldiers in combat to help individuals with limited walking capacity to regain their autonomy in mobility.
B-TEMIA Inc. is a medical device manufacturer that develops and markets products in the growing market of human augmentation systems. Based in Quebec City (Canada), B-TEMIA operates through two wholly-owned subsidiaries, B-TEMIA Health Inc. and B-TEMIA Military Inc. B-TEMIA owns a patent-pending wearable dermoskeleton technology that restores, maintains or enhances the mobility of users.
